Natural Power to showcase water well drilling in Dumfries and Galloway

Helping farmers, landowners and households to plan and install private water supplies.

Ideally placed to support farmers, landowners and households with planning, drilling and installing groundwater abstraction boreholes, Natural Powers drilling team is hitting the road this summer and taking its drill rig on tour, visiting:

Stranraer Show 27th July
Wigtown Agricultural Show 3rd August
Stewartry Show 4th August
Dumfries Show 6th August
Galloway Country Fair 20th - 21st August

The Natural Power team is keen to demonstrate how it can assist farmers and landowners to identify and install a private water supply on their own land. Natural Power can help determine the required yield and target the most likely geological units to achieve a sustainable, high-yielding supply. As well as providing a reliable source of water for livestock and crops, that is not subjected to the same seasonal vagaries as spring and surface water supplies, this natural (rather than chemically-treated) alternative to mains water also brings a cost saving in terms of annual water bills, typically paying back in one year.

The team has great experience in delivering high yield dairy farm water wells and also maximising marginal geological terrain - such as the greywacke type strata found through much of the Galloway region.

Toby Gilbert, Head of Geotechnical at Natural Power, said: "We are looking forward to showcasing the drill rig and explaining our capabilities when it comes to water well drilling, combining our geological knowledge and drilling expertise to achieve reliable affordable water supplies."

The water well drilling service is part of Natural Powers larger geotechnical department that was established in 2005. So with more than 10 years experience in this area, the team is well established at delivering within wider construction management teams, integrated with planning, design and constructions processes, and ensuring work is carried out efficiently and to the highest levels of health and safety.

The team regularly completes site investigation work and topographic surveys in challenging and complex terrain, and has the ability to find solutions that combine experienced geotechnical consultancy skills with state of the art contracting services and plant. Natural Powers fleet of rigs includes large high power machines and smaller all terrain versions to suit most access conditions.

Representatives from Natural Powers health and safety and renewable heat teams will also be attending the agricultural shows throughout the summer to promote its capability to provide safety consultancy services and advice on renewable heat to local organisations in Dumfries and Galloway and the wider regions of Scotland and the UK.
