Hanergy Obtains First-of-its-Kind TüV integrated management system certification in thin film solar industry

The group certification was issued to Hanergy in the pursuit of successfully meeting international standards in the integration of various management systems with standardization and principally for accomplishing the industrialization of thin-film solar energy.

January 22, 2019, Beijing - The world's largest thin-film power solution company, Hanergy Thin Film Power Group (0566.HK), achieves yet another milestone to stay ahead of its industry peers. The clean energy giant and its subsidiaries on Jan 14, 2019 (Monday) have successfully gained a group certification including ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 integrated management system certification by TüV SÜD Greater China (TüV SÜD). TüV integrated management system is the first group certification issued to any thin film solar company.

The group certification was issued to Hanergy in the pursuit of successfully meeting international standards in the integration of various management systems with standardization and principally for accomplishing the industrialization of thin-film solar energy. The grant of the certification is the testament of the fact that not only does Hanergy focus on the quality of products, but also pays attention to environmental and personnel safety issues.

Besides, in order to encourage further cooperation and communication between Hanergy and TüV SÜD, a long-term strategic cooperation agreement on product certification was signed and a number of consensuses were reached on this issue between the two parties.

Wu Di, Chief Quality Officer, Hanergy Thin Film Power Group stated, "Acquiring the group certification essentially is the testimony of the company's efforts to meet the international standards with finesse and fervor. As a multinational clean energy company and the global leader in thin-film solar power generation, Hanergy has always regarded product quality prodigious importance. We focus on quality, reliability, durability and standardization of products."

TÜV SÜD is closely aligned with several international chambers of commerce and trade development organizations in Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, providing a clearer understanding of market trade and import requirements. TÜV SÜD is also affiliated with several reputable organizations in Mainland China including the China Inspection and Quarantine (CIQ), the China Quality Certification Center (CQC) and the China Certification and Inspection Co. (CCIC). Their aims are to protect the brands of clients, ensuring quality throughout the supply and distribution chain, thus reducing risks.

According to TüV SÜD, the ISO 9001 Quality Management System is the most common and well-known product among the tens of thousands of ISO standards. ISO 14001 is the code for Environmental Management System Certification. ISO 45001 is the new standard for Occupational Health and Safety released in 2018.

Hanergy's solar cells set the world record for conversion efficiency several times, with the newest one being 29.1%. It launched and upgraded handful of consumer products in 2018, including Humbrella, solar-powered umbrella; SolarTank, solar backpack; HanPower, solar power bank, retaining its leading position in mobile energy sector. Subsequently, with the debut of HanTile in April and HanWall in September, Hanergy upped-the-ante in global building-integrated PV segment.

Hanergy recently grabbed the first rank for itself in solar energy sector, while taking up an overall 78th rank (Up from 91st rank last year) among China's TOP500 Most Valuable Listed Companies released by 21 Data News Laboratories. Lately, the company inked strategic agreements with partners from Australia, Japan, Vietnam, Switzerland, Paraguay, Chile, Oman, Egypt, and so on, marking its entry in the global market. Collaborating with Bollore Group, Boeing Group, TAM and China's local express delivery companies, Hanergy reached further down for a wider application of thin-film solar power technologies. Its solar modules was chosen by NASA for international space station testing, to evaluate Alta's technology for future NASA low-Earth orbit missions, including powering CubeSats.

Constant breakthroughs in the sector have led to steady surge in Hanergy's market value. Further, Hanergy's "mobile energy +" model is well in place to promote in-depth integrations of mobile energy and traditional industries, and will result in huge market demand, new business models and potential innovation.
