ATI Finalizes Tracker Shipments to 191 MW Springbok 2 Solar Farm

Springbok 1 and 2 expected to replace 580,000 metric tons of CO2 per year

Albuquerque, NM - July 21, 2016 / -- Global solar tracking leader, Array Technologies, Inc. (ATI), has finalized DuraTrack HZ v3 single-axis tracker shipments to 191 MW-dc Springbok 2 Solar Farm, located 70 miles north of Los Angeles, California.

Combined with the 137 MW-dc Springbok 1 Solar Farm, which also features DuraTrack HZ v3 trackers, the two new solar facilities are expected to offset 580,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) per year - the same amount emitted by 71,400 cars annually.
8minutenergy Renewables, LLC (8minutenergy) is the project developer and co-owner of Springbok 2. They chose ATIs market-leading trackers and selected Swinerton Renewable Energy as the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services company. An affiliate of D. E. Shaw Renewable Investments, L.L.C. (DESRI) led the equity investment in the project in 2015, also arranging financing from a group of lenders and tax equity investors. The Springbok 2 project is expected to reach operation before the end of 2016.
ATIs latest version single-axis tracker, DuraTrack HZ v3, will boost the sites power production and lower installation and maintenance costs thanks to industry-leading features such as 6% higher power density, innovative single-bolt per module clamps, zero scheduled maintenance and proven reliability. Backed by ATIs vast experience of more than 5 gigawatts and 27 years of specialized tracker know-how, the DuraTrack HZ v3 will deliver the best-levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) to the sites joint owners and clean energy to Los Angeles residents.
"We are proud to be building a project that will not only provide clean energy for decades to come, but also help set the standard for delivering the best LCOE among utility-scale PV installations," said George Hershman, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Swinerton Renewable Energy. "Congratulations to our dedicated team, our innovative partner Array Technologies, and our respected clients, 8minutenergy and DESRI, on this groundbreaking achievement."

"We are thrilled to continue to be a part of the incredible work performed by industry-leading renewable companies Swinerton, 8minutenergy, and DESRI," explained ATI founder and CEO, Ron Corio. "Our partnership will ensure that Springbok 1 and 2 are providing the citizens of Los Angeles the best value in renewable solar energy for many years to come."
