ScottMadden, Inc., one of North Americas leading energy consulting firms, will soon join wind energy thought leaders as a speaker at the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) WINDPOWER conference being held May 23-26 in New Orleans, LA. This leading annual event gathers thousands of professionals from all major segments in the industry, bringing together policy makers and thought leaders for collaboration.

At this event, Todd Williams, partner at ScottMadden, will discuss the concept of a playbook or model for effective management. Wind operators will learn how to leverage scale by adopting leading practices across their asset base using a proven model deployed by many large, conventional generation fleets. Additionally, ScottMadden will display a poster in the AWEA poster hall highlighting a case study where we helped one wind operator apply the concepts of a playbook to their wind safety function.

"The value of a generation fleet can be greater than the sum of its individual generation assets. Top performance is not automatic or self-sustaining, it needs a mechanism for continuous improvement. We believe that given the size of the U.S. wind fleet, wind generation has reached an inflection point, and owners can benefit from implementing an operational playbook," said Mr. Williams.

Vecoplan - Planning and implementation of complete processing plants in refuse derived fuel production

In order to reduce the costs involved in the energy-intensive production of cement, many manufacturers are turning to refuse-derived fuels (RDF), considerably reducing the proportion of expensive primary fuels they would normally use. Solid fuels are being increasingly used - these might be used tyres, waste wood or mixtures of plastics, paper, composite materials and textiles. Vecoplan provides operators of cement plants with proven and robust components for conveying the material and separating iron and impurities, efficient receiving stations, storage systems and, of course, efficient shredders for an output in various qualities.
