Husum, 12.03.2013 From 21 to 24 March 2013, Messe Husum & Congress will be presenting a wide variety of congress events in its NordseeCongressCentrum that will be dealing with the latest renewable energy topics. Alongside the World Summit for Small Wind and the series of lectures organised as part of the German-Danish FURGY (Future Renewable Energy) project, the subject matter of the lectures will range from combined heat and power plants to storage solutions and new markets. Participation in almost all the approximately 50 congress events is free of charge to visitors to New Energy Husum 2013.

Focus on photovoltaics market and own consumption

Several lectures will provide an overview of the current situation in the solar market. The speakers from Dauerkraft GmbH and Spanish enterprise INFRENDS will be talking about the opportunities offered by new laws and remuneration systems in Poland and Spain. Lectures will also cover self-consumption of solar electricity, energy management and storage systems.

The congress lectures from EWS GmbH will deal with the market opportunities for north German and Danish trades. "Denmark showed very strong development in 2012, but at the end of the year there was a change in the basic rules for operating solar power systems", explains managing director Kai Lippert. The lectures on 22 March, which are also offered in Danish, will provide the information needed by end customers and trades. "The ambitious aim of the Danish government to switch to 100% renewable energy by 2050 is attracting many German businesses to the Danish market", adds Peter Becker, managing director of Messe Husum & Congress.

German-Danish project FURGY provides cross-border information

The FURGY project provides knowledge transfer between Germany and Denmark, and this will be continued with the sessions on 22 March organised by the Flensburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The FURGY lectures, taking place from 12:30 to 17:15 in the NordseeCongressCentrum, focus on storage solutions and the current challenges facing the bioenergy sector. A geothermal energy workshop will also explain technical problems and solutions.

Businesses can profit from the organiser's international experience at the FURGY congress. "Especially medium-sized enterprises should know how to establish contacts with market participants", says Gorm Casper, project manager at the Flensburg CCI. Together with Wolfgang Schulz, head of the RENREN (Renewable ENergy REgions Network) project run by the Schleswig-Holstein ministry of economic affairs, labour, transport and technology, Casper will be presenting the project results of the last few years, and giving tips about how firms can find new business partners worldwide. In another lecture session such experts like the Flensburg CCI, the Schleswig-Holstein ministry of justice, culture and European affairs, and the Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt will be talking about German federal government and EU funding programmes for innovative ideas in the fields of energy and the environment.

Certification and planning of small wind turbines

On 21 and 22 March, Messe Husum & Congress will for the fourth time be hosting the World Summit for Small Wind together with the World Wind Energy Association (WWEA). The 22 speakers from 14 nations will be talking about the certification of wind turbines, new markets and new technology. The lectures start at 13:00 on 21 March; and at 10:30 on 22 March. The two-day ticket for the English language congress with simultaneous translation into German costs 399 euros. There is a reduced price for association members and students.

A further small wind turbine event is being organised by the German Small wind Turbine Association (BVKW) in the congress auditorium on 23 March. From 10:00 to 13:00, renowned manufactures will be reporting on their practical experiences with planning, erection and operation of small wind turbines.

About New Energy Husum

In recent years, New Energy Husum has established itself as one of the most important trade fairs for the renewable energy sector. Since 2002 it has served as a stage for decentralised energy generation using all kinds of renewable sources. Topics and techniques covered by the fair include small wind turbines (up to 100 kW), biogas, solid biomass (pellets, firewood and wood chips for heating systems), solar heating, photovoltaics, electric vehicles, near-surface geothermal energy, energy storage, energy-efficient building and mini CHPs. From 21 to 24 March 2013 experts and leading manufacturers will be meeting again in the North Frisian town of Husum to set the course for the innovations needed in what is a rapidly growing market.
