Convert Italia join the PV project Development Summit South Africa

Convert Italia, a leading manufacturer of photovoltaic mounting structures for utility scale projects, has announced today its sponsorship of the PV Project Development Summit South Africa, taking place in Johannesburg next week on 3-4 September.

Convert Italia will share their expertise in reducing current mounting costs for PV plants, and demonstrate the benefit this will have in the emerging photovoltaic sector in South Africa.

Convert Italia have been active in the energy field for more than 30 years. In Johannesburg they will showcase their TRJ TK technology, the first modular kit for handling horizontal axis solar trackers. This technology is the outcome of the constant commitment of Convert Italia to research and develop new products, as well as their experience in implementing large scale plants.

It has been developed to be integrated into any common single mounting-post fixed structure and to provide the whole daily tracking of the sun from East to West. The main distinguishing feature, comparing to similar products on the market, is the possibility for the customer to prepare the standard steel structures (steel pole foundations, cross bars and modules supports) locally and independently of Convert Italia, so to guarantee a significant price reduction on overall plant costs.

At the PV project Development Summit South Africa Convert Italia will demonstrate the cost reduction opportunities for projects in this region, and how localizing standard steel structures will benfit the industry for years to come.
