Allied Building Products supplied all of the solar panels for the new PSE&G 904kW solar array, consisting of 740kW of Solyndra panels and 164kW of SolarWorld panels.

East Rutherford, NJ - Allied Building Products attended a recent ribbon cutting ceremony for Public Service Electric & Gas Company's (PSE&G) new 904kW solar array installed at the utility's Central Operating Division Headquarters in Somerset, NJ. Allied's Solar Division supplied the PV panels, mounting hardware and inverters which included 740kW of Solyndra panels and 164kW of SolarWorld panels.

"We partner with our contractor customers early in the process to assist with product supply, just-in-time logistics and construction financing," said David Jenkins, General Manager of Allied's Solar Division. "Using this approach our customers can focus on engineering and construction."

Using mobile delivery equipment, Allied's distribution team delivered the Solyndra and SolarWorld panels directly to the PSE&G rooftop, and craned the Satcon inverters into place onto the concrete pad. They also provided construction financing, which helped create a smooth flow of payments throughout the project cycle.

In addition to supplying the solar products, Allied delivered the "cool" white reflective roofing material to the job site. The white thermoplastic polyolefin ("TPO") single-ply roofing membrane reflects sunlight to reduce heat during the summer months, while also reflecting additional light onto the cylindrical solar panels manufactured by Solyndra.
