Las Virgenes Unified School District-Conference For Solar Project Respondents Set For Feb 24th
Mandatory conference for potential installers of the two Las Virgenes Unified School District solar projects (Agoura and Calabasas High Schools) on February 24th at 9:30am at Calabasas High School. Pure Power Advisors is managing RFP process.
The Las Virgenes Unified School District is moving forward with the design and installation of solar power facilities at Agoura High School and Calabasas High School. Participating respondents to a Request for Proposals (RFP), managed by Pure Power Advisors, will be attending a mandatory onsite conference on February 24th from 9:30 - 11:30am at Calabasas High School and continuing at 1:30pm at Agoura High School.
Pure Power Advisors (www.PurePowerAdvisors.com) has been engaged by LVUSD (corp.LVUSD.org) to manage the RFP process for solar installations at its two high school campuses. The solar arrays are anticipated to be up to 2 Megawatts (DC) in the aggregate, combining both rooftop and covered parking applications. There is also the potential for a portion of the installations to be ground-mount.
"Las Virgenes Unified School District is a leader in the State of California in cost-saving through energy efficiency" said Dr. Donald Zimring, Superintendent of LVUSD. "Based on preliminary studies, we expect these solar arrays to generate approximately 20% of the schools' power needs. Installing solar is just one component of a broad program being put forth by the District to conserve financial resources, protect critical education jobs, provide valuable teaching tools for students, and build a legacy of clean energy resources."
Pure Power Advisors will assist LVUSD in evaluating proposals for a turnkey photovoltaic system, including the design, installation, operation, maintenance, and ownership of the solar systems. "Our process is very thorough and is designed to maximize the financial and non-financial benefits to LVUSD by securing the highest quality responses, inclusive of third-party financing structures for the ownership of the systems," noted Paul Le Blanc, Chief Financial Officer of Pure Power Advisors.
LVUSD will only consider bids for both campuses that include financing options structured as third party ownership and long-term maintenance.
