THE 2011 Biodiesel Essay Competition: a scholarship contest

We, at Centre for Jatropha Promotion & Biodiesel believe that biodiesel can reduce dependence on petroleum, help address climate change and boost domestic economies. Biodiesel from a variety of feedstocks can meet contemporary needs for environmental stewardship, economic prosperity, and quality of life without compromising the ability of future generations to meet these needs for them. We are confident that scientific advancements can demonstrate, preserve, and enhance biodiesel's ability to help meet the food, feed, fiber, and energy needs of the future. We're always looking for new ways to get young people involved and informed about biodiesel there is some very innovative and creative thinking out there from our young people, and we just wanted to be a part of that."

CJP is pleased to announce the 2011 "BIODIESEL" Essay Competition. We challenge you to help supply the "push" that the world is greatly in need of. As the future leaders of tomorrow, it is your unquestionable obligation to contribute to the betterment of the world in which we live and be a part of a bigger solution for all its problems. So, assuming you are up to the challenge, gather up your knowledge and research, and be ready to throw us all of your ideas and thoughts on that "push" our beautiful Earth really needs - a new, practical source of energy.
This contest is a chance for all of you to demonstrate your understanding of the current state of our Earth and how a practical solution can fit into all of it. In the wake of a plethora of environmental disasters in our world's history, we have never been more hard-pressed to find a way to curb the damage we have already done to our only home. Now, it is your time to become part of the solution. What can we do? That's the question. You must provide the answer.
The program is open to any young college/university students In other words; the program is not limited to those pursuing degrees in agriculture or biofuels.
To enter the scholarship contest, applicants are required to write an essay on biodiesel in 1,500 words or less. Students have to write an essay on the one of the three given topic:
The 1st Scholarship (Prize) shall be INR. 100,000
The 2nd and 3rd scholarship will carry a cash prize of INR. 51000 and INR 21000 respectively
