Carmanah Provides Solar Power Controllers for South America's Largest Natural Gas Pipeline
Carmanah supplies Transportadora Brasileira Gasoduto Bolivia-Brasil SA (TBG) with proprietary PV3 solar power controllers for installation along the Bolivia-to-Brazil Natural Gas Pipeline.
Carmanah's Power Systems Group has received an order from Transportadora Brasileira Gasoduto Bolivia-Brasil SA (TBG) for a number of units of its proprietary PV3 solar power controller. These controllers are scheduled for installation along the Bolivia-to-Brazil Natural Gas Pipeline, and will be used in conjunction with the pipeline's remote monitoring system.
Currently, Bolivia has one of the largest natural gas reserves in the world. The Bolivia-to-Brazil Natural Gas Pipeline is also the largest pipeline in South America; it has a capacity of 1050 million cubic feet per day and runs 1600 miles from the Rio Grande in Bolivia to the Porto Alegre in Brazil. The pipeline has been in operation since July 1999.
About Carmanah's PV-Series Solar Power Controllers
Carmanah's proprietary PV-Series solar power controllers are telecommunications-grade, multi-function PV Control Centres designed for larger solar systems. With ratings up to 240 amps and system voltages from 12 to 48 VDC, each PV-Series Controller can be custom configured to end-user specifications. With a range of optional features, Carmanah's PV-Series solar power controllers offer a variety of enclosure types, load control options and even RS-232 communications output.
All PV-Series solar power controllers incorporate fully-sealed mercury displacement relays for reliable switching of the high-DC currents found in larger PV systems. Each contactor is individually controlled using Carmanah's proprietary driver circuit, which includes features such as temperature compensation and night-time disconnect. Multiple drivers increase system reliability and allow setpoints to be staggered. The contactors can also be either normally open (NO) or normally closed (NC) depending on user fail-safe requirements.
Carmanah's Solar Power Group has over 20 years of technical experience in solar power systems and one of the widest selections of renewable energy products available. The Company has extensive experience in designing and supplying systems for oil & gas, telecommunications, security and other industrial applications.
