September 12, 2006 (Guelph, Ontario) - Plans to build Canada's first solar park came another step closer to reality today as a leading insurance and financial services company announced its intention to become a sponsor of the project.

The Precept Group Inc., based in Waterloo, Ontario will donate money to The Sunpark Challenge to help buy the solar panels and equipment necessary to generate clean, renewable electricity from the power of the sun.

"We are extremely pleased to support this great initiative", states Jim McGregor, CEO of The Precept Group Inc. "Being part of the development of such a progressive venture to provide renewable solar energy fits with our core value of contributing in tangible ways to our communities".

Solar parks are used extensively in Europe and Japan to generate electricity from sunlight, but they have never yet been implemented in Canada. The solar panels used in a solar park don't cause pollution or emit any greenhouse gases that can cause global warming, and are capable of producing electricity in a safe, environmentally friendly way for many decades.

About The Sunpark Challenge.
The Sunpark Challenge is inviting all Canadians to "help create a better planet for future generations" by sponsoring the individual solar cells that make up the solar park. Companies that sponsor the project receive advertising and promotional opportunities in recognition of their contribution to the environment. For more information visit www.sunpark.ca
