While smaller in population and geographical size, Maryland still dominates Virginia (and many other states) in a slew of solar energy rankings and categories. Whether you compare the number of solar jobs, the number of homes that have installed solar panels, or the amount energy each state wants to derive from solar — Maryland wins, hands down.

Solar fact: Maryland is ranked #8 (out of all 50 states) for the amount of solar electric capacity installed in 2012? Not too shabby, Maryland!
