RURAL ENERGY WINS TOP HONOUR AT MAJOR GREEN AWARDS

Leading UK biomass technology expert Rural Energy has won a top honour at the renewable energy industry's major awards.

The company was named ‘Installer of the Year' in the prestigious British Renewable Energy Awards, which took place in London last week.

It was nominated for the highly-coveted award after delivering major projects with the NHS, National Trust and Ministry of Defence.

Rural Energy's Managing Director Paul Clark received the honour at a black tie gala dinner held at London's Savoy Hotel.

Speaking after the event he said: "It is fantastic that the work of Rural Energy has been recognised by the renewable energy sector.

"This award is a great testament to the hard work, dedication and expertise of our team and its superb record of delivery.

"Rural Energy continues to go from strength to strength as more and more organisations recognise the many benefits of modern biomass technology.

"Businesses and organisations are recognising the importance of biomass technology as a highly effective way of reducing energy bills and cutting carbon emissions. The Government's Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) and the financial benefits that this can bring, makes the biomass proposition even more attractive."

"We are winning a growing number of contracts in the farming, agriculture, healthcare and education sectors, which are key areas for us."

Based in Leicestershire, Rural Energy has spent over a decade at the forefront of the biomass sector. As well as installing biomass, the company offers a complete turn-key service, including design, project management and commissioning, as well as providing long term, hassle free service and maintenance options for their biomass systems. The company also has a distribution arm and offers training facilities for domestic and small commercial biomass installers.

REA Chief Executive Dr Nina Skorupska said of the awards: "It is a reminder that renewable energy is not just about technology, it's something that is transforming our society at all levels, from people's homes and communities to mainstream companies making major investments."
