RE+ 2022 sets record attendance in Anaheim

RE+ 2022 (featuring Solar Power International and Energy Storage International), the leading clean energy event in North America, set record attendance in Anaheim, September 19-22. The conference & expo saw over 27,000 attendees and over 800 exhibitors, making it the biggest RE+ to date. RE+ 2022 is powered by the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) and the Smart Electric Power Alliance (SEPA) and produced by RE+ Events.

RE+ in Anaheim began with a comedic keynote from Hasan Minhaj, award-winning political commentator, writer, comedian, television host, and producer. He followed up his keynote by moderating an opening session with Mary Powell, CEO, Sunrun and Arshad Mansoor, President & CEO, Electric Power Research Institute. From there, attendees could access over 250 education sessions, which included the new Master Speaker Series that hosted Robert Andres, Senior Policy Advisor, Senate Finance Committee; Henk Rogers, Founder & CEO, Blue Planet Energy; Kate Henningsen, Co-founder/Chief Operating Officer, Arcadia; and Steve Powell, President and CEO, Southern California Edison, among others. The Series also included opening video remarks from U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm.

In addition to the five education theaters and a live microgrid demonstration, the show floor featured over 800 exhibitors providing solutions across the clean energy landscape and included companies in solar, energy storage, hydrogen, fuel cells, EV infrastructure, software & digital solutions, startups, and more.

“This was the first time we were able to host RE+ in-person since 2019. It was clear that the industry was eager to get back together to network and conduct business, in a way that’s hard to replicate online,” said Stephen Miner, President & CEO, RE+ Events. “The amount of excitement coursing through RE+ over the four days was something that had been missing over the past couple of years.”

Attendees found a variety of networking opportunities to participate in at RE+ 2022 as well. The popular Block Party networking event returned, this time to Angel Stadium of Anaheim, providing a unique experience for those in attendance. Other opportunities included the RE+ Tech Funders Breakfast, Women in Renewable Energy Reception, Clean Energy Job Fair, poster reception, and more.

The success of RE+ 2022 was also made possible by several partners highly engaged in the event. Emerge Alliance, Hydrogen Fuel Cell Partnership, Solar Energy International, U.S. Commercial Service, all lent their expertise. The U.S. Department of Energy and National Renewable Energy Laboratory announced American Made Solar Prize winners, awarding more than $1.4 million to solar industry startups. The Center for Transportation and the Environment, Center for Hydrogen Safety, and the Idaho National Laboratory also came to Anaheim to co-locate their respective events, Zero Emission Bus Conference, Center of Hydrogen Safety Americas Conference, and Securing the Path to Net-zero™.

RE+ 2023 will be held September 11-14 in Las Vegas, Nevada at The Venetian Expo. For more information, visit www.re-plus.com.
