Maxwell Technologies to Feature Ultracapacitor-based Grid Energy Storage Technology at 2019 Energy Storage Association Conference & Expo

Maxwell's Dr. Kimberly McGrath to Participate in Panel on "A Focus on Microgrids"

Who: San Diego-based Maxwell Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: MXWL), a leading global developer and manufacturer of energy storage and power delivery solutions, will participate in the Energy Storage Association Annual Conference and Expo. Kimberly McGrath, Ph.D., MBA, the Company's senior director of technical marketing and business development will be on a panel titled, "A Focus on Microgrids." She will also be available onsite for interviews.

What: The Conference & Expo (#ESACon19) offers a compelling program driven by three key themes: Changing How Business Gets Done, Building Out the storagePLUS Network, and Game Changers: New End Uses & Users.

Maxwell will highlight two ultracapacitor subsystems for grid energy storage: the Grid Energy Storage System (GESS) and the Grid Cell Pack (GCP). These highly scalable products deliver reliable, fast-responding, long lifetime storage in grids and microgrids. Both products address the growing need for power-intense grid services, and are designed to stabilize voltage and frequency, firm renewable power output, provide bridging and ramping services and improve generator response. The GESS and GCP can be deployed as stand-alone energy storage systems or in combination with other energy storage assets. Learn more about Maxwell's ultracapacitor solutions for grid energy storage here.

When and Where: The ESA Conference will be held April 16-18, 2019, at the Phoenix Convention Center.

Why: Maxwell introduced two first-to-market grid and microgrid ultracapacitor systems in June 2018 to address the power gap caused by increasing renewable energy generation and frequency deviances in the grid. Combined with a global decline in traditional fossil-based energy sources, new energy storage resources must respond faster, cycle more frequently and support grid ancillary services to ensure grid stability and resiliency. In September 2018, Maxwell announced a design-in of the grid energy storage subsystem with Siemens. The Siemens Static VAR Compensator plus Frequency Stabilizer (SVC PLUS FS) enables ISOs, electric utilities and transmission system operators to have better control of their grids and reduce the risk of blackouts. Learn how Maxwell grid energy storage solutions deliver reliable and cost-effective energy storage for utility grids and microgrids.

Vecoplan - Planning and implementation of complete processing plants in refuse derived fuel production

In order to reduce the costs involved in the energy-intensive production of cement, many manufacturers are turning to refuse-derived fuels (RDF), considerably reducing the proportion of expensive primary fuels they would normally use. Solid fuels are being increasingly used - these might be used tyres, waste wood or mixtures of plastics, paper, composite materials and textiles. Vecoplan provides operators of cement plants with proven and robust components for conveying the material and separating iron and impurities, efficient receiving stations, storage systems and, of course, efficient shredders for an output in various qualities.
