Company adds 30-year utility executive to advance technology adoption with utilities

Tantalus Systems, a technology company that helps utilities make smart decisions, announced today that Laura Formusa, former CEO of Ontario electric utility Hydro One, has joined the companys board of directors. In her new role, Formusa will tap into her vast industry experience to help guide Tantalus strategic vision and grow the companys customer base.

"Technology is critical to the modernization of the grid and to utilities continued leadership in energy services," said Laura Formusa. "My goal in joining Tantalus board of directors is to further utilities adoption of advanced technologies that will help them innovate and compete in a rapidly changing market. Before joining the Tantalus Board, Formusa served as the President and CEO of Hydro One. She first joined Hydro One in 1980, holding several leadership roles including Vice President and General Counsel before being named CEO. Formusa comes with more than 30 years of experience in the utilities industry and deep expertise in energy management technologies.

Formusas leadership spans beyond the utility sector. She also serves on the boards of Enmax, 407 International, Equitable Life Insurance Company of Canada and the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences. In addition, Laura sits on the board of governors of York University. Formusa was named one of Canadas Top 100 Most Powerful Women by the Womens Executive Network and is now in the organizations Hall of Fame.
