sonnen reports record demand for battery storage
sonnen, Europe's largest manufacturer of lithium battery storage recorded a new quarterly sales record due to rapidly increasing demand. sonnen reached a new all-time high in the first three months of the year with worldwide sales of 2,600 units of its smart energy storage system, the sonnenBatterie.
MAY 11, 2016 (LOS ANGELES) - sonnen, Europe's largest manufacturer of lithium battery storage recorded a new quarterly sales record due to rapidly increasing demand. sonnen reached a new all-time high in the first three months of the year with worldwide sales of 2,600 units of its smart energy storage system, the sonnenBatterie. This represents an increase of over 100 percent compared to the previous quarter.
The United States is now the second largest market for sonnen, outside of Europe and the production and sales for the US market in California is off to a very successful start. Since ramping up production there in the end of 2015, sonnen's US business reached a seven-figure sales number for the first quarter of 2016.
"Our sales figures show that global customer demand for energy storage is real," says Boris von Bormann, CEO of sonnen, Inc. "We began shipping product at the end of 2015 and have seen demand growing at a steady pace in the first quarter of 2016. We have over 54 sonnenBatterie partners selling our energy storage products to residential and commercial customers across the country and we are just getting started."
The sonnenBatterie is an integrated all-in-one energy storage system for residential and commercial customers. In addition to the battery modules, the inverter and the measurement technology, the system also integrates an intelligent energy manager software that controls energy usage for homes and businesses.
sonnen has over 10,000 systems installed globally and has already won several awards for its products including the 2016 Grid Edge Award for innovation and was chosen as most innovative company in Europe & Israel by the Global Cleantech 100 for 2016.
