Intersolar Europe and BSW-Solar intensify cooperation

The German Solar Association remains exclusive partner of Intersolar and ees Europe / Joint efforts in developing solar markets around the world / Henceforth discounted exhibition participation for association members

Berlin, 3 February 2016 - The German Solar Association (BSW-Solar) continues its successful cooperation with Intersolar, the worlds leading exhibition for the solar industry, and with the expanding electrical energy storage exhibition ees Europe; cooperation is to extend until at least the year 2020. "We will continue to work together to identify new trends in the energy transition, and to develop promising markets at an early stage," says Carsten Körnig, Managing Director of BSW-Solar. "As exclusive partner, we will also be able to offer our member companies particularly favorable conditions for participation in the exhibition." According to Körnig, however, the majority of this years exhibition space is already taken.

BSW-Solar estimates that in many parts of the world, solar power is well on its way to becoming the most inexpensive of all energy forms. BSW-Solar, the interest group of the solar energy and storage technology companies, expects that by the year 2020 there will be a doubling of the global photovoltaic market over 100 gigawatts and a market breakthrough for home storage systems and electromobility.

"With its growing network at home and abroad and its extraordinary level of technical expertise, BSW-Solar is a valuable partner in the development of new markets and business areas," explains Markus Elsässer of the trade fair organizer Solar Promotion GmbH. "For our activities abroad as well, we will be intensifying our cooperation with the association."

The exhibitions Intersolar and ees Europe will take place from 22 - 24 June 2016 in Munich. One of the central topics at Intersolar Europe 2016 will be "Smart Renewable Energy". With increasing shares of solar power in the energy mix, it is becoming increasingly important to utilize, steer and store this solar power sensibly. The keywords in this context are "Smart Home", "Smart Building", "Smart Cities" and "Smart Grid", all of which revolve around the intelligent steering and storage of electricity. In order to enable this for the energy supply of the future, intelligent services and technologies are needed.

As of Intersolar and ees Europe 2017, BSW-Solar member companies can participate at particularly favorable conditions, if they reserve their booth space until September 30 of the preceding year. Further information is available at www.solarwirtschaft.de and www.intersolar.de.

BSW-Solar has been bolstering its international role, most recently as initiator and co-organizer of the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue. The conference serves to facilitate the international exchange of experience and know-how between policymakers and industry representatives on important topics of the global energy transition. It will take place for the second time on March 16 and 17 of this year (see www.energiewende2016.de).
