SolarEdge Launches Extended Range of Inverters
The new extended power range line of single phase inverters is here and we are taking orders!
SolarEdge is excited to announce the new SE7600A-US, SE10000A-US and SE11400A-US inverters which double the power of SolarEdge's single-phase inverter line. These inverters enable larger residential systems using a single inverter, and provide the known benefits of the SolarEdge inverters including: flexible design, high efficiency, small size, easy installation, and superior safety.
The new inverters will begin shipping in March, 2014.
SolarEdge inverterInstallation
The extended range single phase inverters are designed for simple and super fast installation:
*The inverters are supplied with a pre-assembled AC/DC Safety Switch, enabling both functions with the installation of one unit.
*The inverters have a streamlined mounting bracket resulting in less labor and offering a concealed, aesthetically pleasing installation.
System Design
Like the other SolarEdge single phase inverters, the new models support long string lengths from 8 power optimizers up to 5,250W (max 25 power optimizers per string) and are supported in the latest release of the Site Designer v 2.2.0.
The Expert's Corner
Dru SuttonWith the new Isolation Fault status screen it is now easier than ever to determine the location of an isolation fault with no special equipment. The Isolation screen provides a graphic display showing an ‘*' located from 0% to 100%. If you multiply the number of power optimizers in the string by the percentage value, the result is the module location near where the fault occurred. Remember to count from the DC+ side. For Example: in a string with 15 power optimizers and a percentage value of 55%, I would multiply 15*55% = 8.25. This means that the fault is near module #8, counted from the DC+ side. The location of the fault is detected with an accuracy of ±1 for single phase inverters and ±2 for three phase inverters. If you still cannot find the problem then you may need to use an isolation tester but this simple procedure can help you to solve most isolation faults onsite with no additional equipment needed.
