Ban-Ki Moon, Murkowski to headline Bloomberg New Energy Finance Summit

UN Secretary-General and Alaska's US Senator among over 100 Energy Industry Thought Leaders to Participate in the Annual Gathering

New York, April 10 – Bloomberg New Energy Finance has unveiled the speaker line-up for its upcoming Summit to be held April 22 - 24 at the Grand Hyatt in New York. Now in its sixth year, the Summit has established itself as the leading forum for decision-makers leading the transformation of the energy sector.

The Summit will feature keynote addresses from United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon and Senator Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, the ranking Republican on the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee.

This year's theme – Resilience, Optionality and Intelligence, "the new energy R.O.I." – explores the intersection of the energy markets, industry, finance and policy. In an era characterized by complexity, volatility and changing energy patterns, cooperation between these sectors is essential to create a smart and resilient energy system. Top entrepreneurs, strategists, investors, and policy-makers will gather over three days to examine the tumultuous transformation underway in the energy sector and set the agenda for the years to come.

"The energy sector is exposed to risk as never before. Commodity prices, technological change, unstable policy, drought, storms, climate change, hackers, shareholder activism - the next shock could come from any direction." said Bloomberg New Energy Finance Chief Executive Michael Liebreich. "This year's Bloomberg New Energy Finance Summit is about how decision-makers should think about planting their feet, given these dangerously shifting sands."
