AMP AMERICAS SELECTED TO JOIN DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY'S NATIONAL CLEAN FLEETS PARTNERSHIP
AMP Americas will be able to further its efforts to leverage cleaner alternative fuels and technologies, to increase efficiency and cost-savings, and to reduce emissions.
CHICAGO, March 4, 2013 – AMP Americas, the company that helps organizations with large trucking fleets transition from gasoline and diesel to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), today was selected to join the National Clean Fleets Partnership at the Indiana Greener Pastures and Beyond press event in Fair Oaks, Ind. Tasked to reduce America's dependency on imported oil, the program is spearheaded by the United States Department of Energy's "Clean Cities" initiative.
AMP Americas joins the National Clean Fleets roster that is composed of 25 progressive companies including AT&T, Best Buy, Coca-Cola, FedEx, Frito-Lay, GE, Johnson Controls, PepsiCo, UPS, and Verizon.
"As we continue to reduce emissions and fuel costs, we are committed to cleaner and greener transportation and are very proud to join this elite group that contains some of the world's most respected businesses," said Nathan Laurell, CEO of AMP Americas. "By the end of the year we plan to open 13 more CNG fueling stations and to lease additional CNG trucks, lessening the financial barriers for companies transitioning to CNG."
Through the National Clean Fleets Partnership, AMP Americas will be able to further its efforts to leverage cleaner alternative fuels and technologies, to increase efficiency and cost-savings, and to reduce emissions. The Partnership offers AMP Americas access to technical information, tools, resources and opportunities for collaboration with the DOE.
The company is leading the way in using CNG as a sustainable transportation fuel via multiple innovative fuel-saving initiatives. In addition to helping corporate and independent long-haul fleets convert from diesel to renewably produced CNG, AMP Americas owns and operates:
Two CNG fueling stations in Indiana with plans to add 13 stations to its nationwide network by the end of 2013.
Renewable-CNG assets including a CNG plant that produces renewable natural gas from cow manure through a process called anaerobic digestion.
One of the largest CNG fleets in the country in partnership with Fair Oaks Farms.
