INTERSOLAR CHINA POSTPONED
China's international exhibition for the solar industry will now reopen its doors in 2013. The China Renewable Energy Industry Association (CREIA) is welcomed as the new partner of Intersolar China. The Intersolar China Conference is taking place in Beijing as planned from December 11–13, 2012.
Freiburg/Pforzheim, Germany, and Beijing, China, October 23rd, 2012 – The organizers of Intersolar China have decided to postpone the event until 2013. Against a background of ongoing consolidation in several areas of the solar industry, factors such as economic trends in the photovoltaics (PV) sector played a crucial role in the decision. Intersolar China is now being supported by its new partner, the China Renewable Energy Industry Association (CREIA), a collaboration that in the future will create even greater links between industry and politics at Intersolar China. The Intersolar China Conference is taking place as planned at the Intercontinental Hotel Beichen in Beijing from December 11–13. Some 500 national and international industry experts are expected to attend.
The organizers of the second Intersolar China, which this year was due to take place at the China National Convention Center (CNCC) in Beijing, primarily based their decision to postpone the event on the effects of the worldwide consolidation of the solar industry. The international exhibition for the solar industry, which provides a valuable platform for the Asian solar markets of the future, will now be put back until 2013. The organizers will release the precise date as soon as possible.
CREIA welcomed as a new collaborative partner
Intersolar China is now also being supported by the China Renewable Energy Industry Association (CREIA), with whom a partnership agreement was concluded at the start of October 2012. CREIA's support is intended to strengthen the exchange between industry and politics at Intersolar China in the future. "Intersolar boasts considerable experience on an international level and is the most important exhibition for the solar industry worldwide. As a co-organizer of Intersolar China, we are providing solar companies with high-quality conferences and exhibitions, and thus creating the ideal communication platform to drive forward the development and use of solar technology across the globe," says Li Junfeng, President of CREIA and Director General of the National Center for Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation (NCSC), China.
CREIA is currently the only association in China to admit international members. In addition to China's largest wind and solar companies, members include firms such as Siemens, First Solar and Kyocera. As an independent and self-financed industry association, CREIA has set itself the target of ensuring that the enormous potential of renewable energy in China is better exploited. CREIA is making its first appearance as a collaborative partner of Intersolar China at the Intersolar China Conference 2012.
