TÜV SÜD and MBJ Services: Cooperation in on-site testing of photovoltaic plants
TÜV SÜD and MBJ Services plan future cooperation in the testing of photovoltaic plants. The two companies have signed an agreement to this effect. The focus of their cooperation will involve joint projects in the on-site testing and the development of a certification mark for on-site tests.
MBJ Services developed a mobile test centre for on-site testing of photovoltaic plants. "Measuring the function and performance of PV plants after shipping but before installation is an essential element of end-to-end quality control", says Erik Lohse, Managing Director of MBJ Services GmbH. "The measurements at the installation sites enable us to identify and remove defective modules prior to installation and avoid time-consuming measurements and repairs of the complete system." Using a franchise model, MBJ plans an extensive rollout of the system over the next months and years.
The cooperation between MBJ and TÜV SÜD aims at quickly raising awareness of the technology on the German and European market and ensuring its acceptance by the various market players. To this end, the two cooperation partners plan on completing joint projects for on-site testing of PV plants in Germany and abroad and will also develop a list of certification criteria and a certification mark for on-site testing. "The know-how of MBJ Services regarding the on-site testing system and TÜV SÜD's global expertise in the testing and certification of PV modules and PV plants will complement each other excellently", emphasizes Jörg Oldorf, Head of Power & Systems Industry of the Industry Services Division at TÜV SÜD.
