Distributed Wind's Latest Turbine To Be Announced at Windpower 2012

Renewable energy company Urban Green Energy to unveil UGE-9M(TM) at AWEA Windpower 2012 in Atlanta - a simple and affordable solution for institutional and government wind projects.

NEW YORK, New York, May 31, 2012 - With the ever-increasing adoption of distributed renewable energy solutions, Urban Green Energy today launched the UGE-9M(TM), the world's largest commercial wind turbine of its type. Powerful yet elegant, UGE-9M redefines how communities and commercial entities can efficiently capture the power from the wind. A simple and affordable solution for distributed wind energy, UGE-9M takes wind from all directions and converts it to energy that commercial establishments and government authorities can readily use for their energy needs. Energy output for the UGE-9M is 15,000 kWh/year at wind speeds of 5.5m/s.

"We are excited to be bringing the success of our smaller wind turbines into the community market," said Mateo Chaskel, AVP of Operations at Urban Green Energy. "There is significant interest for an efficient and cost-attractive solution at this wind scale, and we are glad to be introducing this new solution to our customers."

Maintaining the same key characteristics that UGE is known for, including UGE's proprietary design, UGE-9M efficiently captures wind from any direction, generates energy at low wind speeds, operates quietly and feeds energy directly to the grid with the help of UGE's advanced electronics. Furthermore, monitoring is seamlessly provided by ViewUGE, UGE's proprietary system that monitors and shares data on energy consumption and production anywhere in the world.

The initial pilot installations of UGE-9M includes three units at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and six units in Qatar, allowing the turbines to offset a significant portion of the energy consumption at each site.

Next week, from June 3 to 6, 2012, Urban Green Energy will be present at AWEA's WINDPOWER 2012 in booth 2544 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta to showcase the UGE-9M and the company's portfolio of renewable wind and solar solutions.
