DranetzUSA Introduces the ProfiTest PV Solar Panel Tester

Results From Gossen-Metrawatt ProfiTest PV Can Be View Within Seconds of Set-up

Edison, New Jersey April 19, 2012

DranetzUSA has gone solar with the Gossen-Metrawatt Profitest PV Peak Measurement and Characteristic Curve Tracer. The ProfiTest PV can be used for the measurement of characteristic IV curves of photovoltaic modules and strings. It is also capable of calculating peak power, internal series resistance (Rs) shunt resistance (Rp) on the basis of measured values directly at the PV system's installation site. The results can then be viewed in a color graphical display or with the free PC software.

Easy, fast, accurate and safe are all qualities of Gossen- Metrawatt products. Set-up is both simple and intuitive and results can be displayed immediately on the ProfiTest PV and compared against the solar panel's manufacturers specifications. "One of the unique features of the ProfiTest PV is that a PC is not required for setup or results," said DranetzUSA Product Manager Ed Russo. "Our ProfiTest PV will display the IV curve and compare it to the panel's Standard Test Conditions (STC). Any deviation from the STC may indicate a problem with the panel, cells or the installation."

In a recent test using the ProfiTest PV, the IV curve of the solar panels were measured against the manufacturer's specifications and a deviation in output was found, likely due to a defect in the solar panel. As a result, the power output was reduced, which if allowed to go unresolved, would compromise the payback on the PV installation.

Vecoplan - Planning and implementation of complete processing plants in refuse derived fuel production

In order to reduce the costs involved in the energy-intensive production of cement, many manufacturers are turning to refuse-derived fuels (RDF), considerably reducing the proportion of expensive primary fuels they would normally use. Solid fuels are being increasingly used - these might be used tyres, waste wood or mixtures of plastics, paper, composite materials and textiles. Vecoplan provides operators of cement plants with proven and robust components for conveying the material and separating iron and impurities, efficient receiving stations, storage systems and, of course, efficient shredders for an output in various qualities.
