Active Sustainable Energy Systems has secured contracts worth nearly £4 million.

The work includes commercial work for two large-scale developments in Aberdeen centre and Westhill as well as a large domestic project at Eco Village in Findhorn, valued at £1.8million altogether. A further £2million worth of work has been secured for Q3 and Q4 of 2012, putting the company on target for turnover of £6.7million in 2012.

The increase in work means the company is currently undergoing a recruitment drive for a further 10 engineers, to add to its existing team of 67 in Aberdeen and Inverness.

Ian Nicol, managing director of Active said: "We are finding the market extremely positive just now with projects picking up following a relatively slow-paced 2011. I am looking forward to further expanding the company and our team off the back of these contract wins.

"We had expected a dip in renewable energy work following the government's handling of the feed-in-tariffs last year but interest in our service offering and technologies remains strong. Air conditioning, heating and plumbing remains at the core of the business however we will continue to focus on renewables energy installation, including heat pumps and solar panels.

"The commercial projects are both large-scale installations of air conditioning and ventilation systems. The Eco Village in Findhorn is an exciting renewables project, we will install heat pumps, solar panels, underfloor heating and ventilation systems in 17 eco-friendly houses there."

Active works with many clients including homeowners, developers, architects and social housing agencies to create the comfortable living and working environments they have envisioned for their properties, using some of the most advanced and efficient technologies available in the world.

The company is one of the only dedicated heat pump installers currently in Scotland able to design, install and maintain every element of this type of heating system, including the heat pump itself, solar panels and under-floor heating or radiators as required.

Award-winning Active Sustainable Energy Systems was founded in 1999 and currently employs 67 people in Aberdeen and Inverness. The company is established as a leading expert in the application of sustainable energy systems for both domestic and commercial properties in the North East of Scotland.
