Community Joins Forces for Largest Collective Deployment of Solar in San Diego County

Fallbrook and Bonsall Residents Save Over $200,000 Collaboratively on Solar Projects

SAN DIEGO, CA (Nov. 1, 2011) – Fallbrook and Bonsall residents recently rallied behind a vision for a solar community, resulting in the largest collective deployment of residential solar power systems for a given community in the history of San Diego County. Locally headquartered solar provider, Sullivan Solar Power, championed the Fallbrook Solar Program initiative, to reward participating homeowners over $200,000 collaboratively with cash-back incentives for their solar projects.

"Our company launched the comprehensive campaign in August to educate Fallbrook-area residents about solar technology, the cost-benefit analysis and the potential for creating a sustainable community," said Daniel Sullivan, founder and president of Sullivan Solar Power.

Through the collaborative community effort, Fallbrook and Bonsall property owners are installing 293,453 Watts AC of clean, renewable solar energy. The accomplishment will result in a reduction of 663,721 pounds of CO2 from being emitted into the atmosphere each year.

"It would be tremendous to see Fallbrook transition into a community powered by solar electricity," said Linda Blanz, a participant in the Sullivan Solar Power incentive program who recently installed her solar power system.

To inspire residents to declare energy independence, Sullivan created substantial incentives on top of the State rebate and Federal tax credit. The program encouraged residents to tell their neighbors and friends to go solar before the program closed on October 17. Sullivan Solar Power is dispersing incentives double the amount of the State rebate, resulting in more renewable energy being deployed within the area.

"The program was designed in a manner to create a critical mass and encourage as many residents in the community as possible to go solar and the community's commitment has assisted Fallbrook to shift dependence from foreign fossil fuels to renewable resources," said Sullivan.
