Lufft Turns 130 Years!
During the month of August, 2011 G.Lufft Mess- und Regeltechnik GmbH (Lufft) celebrated their 130th birthday. Lufft has been providing precision climatological measuring equipment since its foundation by Gotthilf Lufft in 1881
.This year marked a milestone for Lufft as a leader in the development and manufacture of advanced climate monitoring technology. Over time, operations have expanded worldwide through a vast network of partners and representatives. Today Lufft does business in meteorological, pharmaceutical and WCO (Weather Critical Operations) throughout the world. The demand for precision weather monitoring equipment is growing, and Lufft manufacturing is leading the way with new technology to meet growing industry needs.
The Lufft brand of technology is truly state of the art. The WS Family includes the latest advances in weather monitoring technology. Each sensor is configurable to the requirements of the outside system, making it virtually "plug and play" with any data collection system. The flexibility of communication for the advanced sensors allow them to be integrated with nearly any datalogger, PLC or SCADA system on the market today. Lufft weather instruments are also time tested. The "grandparents" of the Lufft line include the dial thermo hygrographs, and pen and ink hygrographs are still manufactured with the same centuries old technology. To keep pace with the market and the modern technology, electronic devices are developed parallel to the mechanical products adhering to the basic principle of "Tradition and Innovation".
Lufft USA is the North American division of Lufft. It is still quite young compared to its 130 year old parent, but growing fast. Lufft USA offers the Lufft line of WS Intelligent weather stations sold as components or as complete turnkey systems. The WS sensors or other climate monitoring sensors can be integrated into renewable energy, meteorological, hydrology and air quality monitoring systems. The solar industry has embraced the new Lufft WS 501 and WS301 components with integrated solar pyranometer by Kipp & Zonen. Many are already successfully being used in solar field applications even though they were introduced less than one year ago.
