New for USA: DEGERenergie single-axis TOPtraker 8.5 with 20 degrees elevation angle
MLD tracking technology prevails worldwide trend towards smaller solar energy facilities, says German tracking specialist DEGERenergie.
Horb a.N./Hamburg, Germany, September 5th, 2011. DEGERenergie is registering a worldwide rise in interest in solar energy generation for self-supply with MLD tracking. At the EU PVSEC in Hamburg, DEGERenergie presents its newest innovation, the single-axis TOPtraker 8.5 system with an elevation angle of 20 degrees. This system will also be launched soon in the USA. With more than 45,000 systems installed worldwide, DEGERenergie is the global market leader for solar tracking systems.
The availability of the single-axis TOPtraker 8.5, with an elevation angle of 20 degrees, was particularly designed for the requirements of the US market, and it is planned to be available for late summer 2011. The TOPtraker 8.5 is the smallest system DEGERenergie offers. Depending on the location, the system is optionally available with an elevation angle of 20 or 30 degrees, and suitable for installation on buildings. The system is designed for a module area surface of 8.5 square meters and it can be operated with all available solar modules. Depending on the module type, the rated power is between 500 and 1,300 Wp.
It became evident at the Intersolar North America, in San Francisco, in July 2011, and experts from the photovoltaics sector expect the USA to turn into one of the strongest-growing solar energy markets within the next five years. Two trends triggered by the energy turnaround worldwide are particularly apparent here: First, the solar sector is moving from large-scale solar parks towards smaller and medium-sized solar power plants; second, the interest in systems for the generation of solar energy for self-supply is increasing.
Small and medium-sized companies as well as individuals are more than ever interested in becoming independent of the rising energy prices by using MLD tracking systems. Michael Heck, Vice President Marketing & Sales at DEGERenergie: "We noticed that the importance of self-supply is rapidly increasing worldwide. With our extensive MLD tracking portfolio, we are perfectly suited to support and promote this development."
DEGERenergie is currently in intensive negotiations with manufacturers in the area of electricity storage. Michael Heck: "MLD tracking ensures a relatively uniform energy yield all day long. This well-balanced uniform energy generation creates optimum conditions not only for self-supply, but also for storing energy for times when the sun does not shine. We are convinced that, in terms of solar energy generation for self-supply, the future belongs to comprehensive solutions like combinations of MLD tracking and optimized storage."

About DEGERenergie (www.DEGERenergie.com):
DEGERenergie is the leading manufacturer with the world's largest product range of single and dual-axis solar tracking systems. The company's market position is based on the unique patented Maximum Light Detection (MLD) technology developed by Artur Deger, which makes it possible to maximize the yield of solar power plants with an "intelligent" control. With the DEGERconecter, the solar modules are always aligned according to the brightest position in the sky with the highest energy yield. This way, the overall energy yield of solar power plants with MLD tracking is up to 45 percent higher than that of fixed systems and this difference is even more pronounced for peaks. With approximately 45,000 systems installed in more than 45 countries, DEGERenergie is the global market and technological leader. The company offers its customers all product related solutions – from the development and planning, production and sales to maintenance and service.
You can't always rely on the weather. But you can rely on an intelligent control system from DEGERenergie.
