The law firm of Archer & Greiner P.C., a leader in alternative and renewable energy law,

represents The McGraw-Hill Companies Inc. on numerous aspects of the recently approved solar
energy project on McGraw-Hill's East Windsor, N.J., corporate campus. The project is the
largest privately-owned, net-metered solar project in the Western Hemisphere.
Archer & Greiner has successfully handled permitting, land use approvals, tax issues, the
Power Purchase Agreement and the Solar Land Lease, as well as other contracts, for McGraw-
Hill, a global leader in financial information and education.
The 14.1 megawatt, state-of-the-art, ground-mounted solar array is being developed on a
50-acre parcel adjacent to McGraw-Hill' s two office buildings, including a 180,000-square foot
data center. The energy produced by the project is expected to reduce McGraw-Hill' s annual
global carbon emissions by the equivalent of about 10 percent and significantly lower the
company' s long-term electricity costs.
Members of Archer & Greiner's Alternative & Renewable Energy Group David
Weinstein, Robert Kugler, Gary Rosensweig and Jeffrey Gordon:
Drafted McGraw-Hill's Request for Proposals (RFP) issued to renewable energy service
providers.
Negotiated the Power Purchase Agreement, Solar Land Lease and Pr oject Development
Agreement between McGraw-Hill and NJR Clean Energy Ventures, a subsidiary of New
Jersey Resources renewable energy services provider.
Advised regarding land use approvals and permitting by state, county and local
government agencies.
The project is expected to eliminate carbon dioxide emissions equivalent to removing
approximately 2,488 cars from the roads or power serving 4,000 homes per year.
