Chattanooga, Tenn. -- Signal Energy, LLC, a major design/build general contractor providing Engineering, Procurement and Construction services to the North American renewable energy industry, was recently recognized by Chevron Global Power for exceptional safety performance on its Casper Wind Project in Natrona County, Wyoming.

Signal Energy recently completed the design, engineering and construction of this wind farm with no recordable injuries. It was this exemplary performance and flawless safety record that earned the Signal Energy project team public recognition from Chevron.

Signal Energy attributes this recognition to the company's strong focus on safety whether the work is self-performed or subcontracted. Each person plays a major role in jobsite safety and contributes a great deal of time and effort toward achieving the significant milestone of a zero-incident project. To show appreciation, Signal Energy is recognizing key stakeholders who made this safety award possible at the American Wind Energy Association's WINDPOWER Conference and Exhibition in Dallas, Texas on May 23-26.

Signal Energy's behavior-based approach to project safety management focuses on team building to maintain a positive safety culture and has resulted in superior EMR ratings of less than 0.65 over the last five years and TRIR and DART rankings drastically below the national industry average. Signal Energy is proud of these results and will continue striving to achieve zero-incident projects.

Vecoplan - Planning and implementation of complete processing plants in refuse derived fuel production

In order to reduce the costs involved in the energy-intensive production of cement, many manufacturers are turning to refuse-derived fuels (RDF), considerably reducing the proportion of expensive primary fuels they would normally use. Solid fuels are being increasingly used - these might be used tyres, waste wood or mixtures of plastics, paper, composite materials and textiles. Vecoplan provides operators of cement plants with proven and robust components for conveying the material and separating iron and impurities, efficient receiving stations, storage systems and, of course, efficient shredders for an output in various qualities.
