VANCOUVER, February 24, 2010 - The Renewable Energies Business unit has donated essential equipment to West House, the energy-efficient home born out of the vision from Simon Fraser University (SFU), Western Economic Diversification (WED) and the City of Vancouver.
The West House concept came from "The North House" that placed 4th in the 2009 Solar Decathlon held in September. The contribution of a Xantrex™ Grid-Tie Inverter and PowerLogic™ Branch Circuit Power Monitor ensure high energy efficiency and lower utility bills and strongly support the sustainability concept of this project.
"We are excited to help the West House because it aligns with the company's strategy of providing solutions for energy efficiency, while making energy safe, reliable, productive and green, from plant to plug." said Jeff Everett, Segment Marketing Manager at Schneider Electric. "This project showcases this commitment in action for the world to see."
Both these products offer reliability and easy, inexpensive installation The integrated features ideally demonstrate the Schneider Electric model of offering a full spectrum of sustainable energy management solutions to help customers "make the most of their energy™" and achieve more while using fewer resources.
Schneider Electric's Renewable Energies Business leads the world in developing, manufacturing and marketing advanced power electronic products and systems for renewable markets. These sophisticated products convert and control raw electrical power from any central or distributed, renewable source into the high-quality power required by the electricity grid.
West House is open to the public at LiveCity Yaletown, David Lam Park, one of the two City of Vancouver celebration sites during the 2010 Winter Games.
