SolarWorks NJ - Solar Energy Company Starts Construction On The Largest Affordable Housing Project In Orange, NJ
SolarWorks, NJ—Another First for the Solar Energy Company.
SolarWorks NJ has begun work on Orange, NJ's largest affordable housing solar energy system. This $360,000, 45 kW system is being done on a multi - housing affordable housing building known as Tri-Corner Homes. The site at 307 Washington Street is the brainchild of RPM Development Group, a Montclair based company. According to Steve Masapollo, CEO of SolarWorks NJ "Not only is this the largest system ever done in Orange it is the second RPM affordable housing development to have solar energy. This represents a significant step forward in the effort to make NJ the leader in solar applications in general but also the affordable housing market. We are very proud to be a part of this effort".
The NJ BPU through its Clean Energy Program contributed funds to the project. "Without the efforts of the NJ BPU this project would not be possible," said Masapollo.
In November 2006 The Department of Community Affairs and the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency presented RPM Development an award for Outstanding Affordable Housing Development for the Belvidere Village Housing project. This project is located in the Canal Banks Redevelopment area of Trenton and includes 18 new construction units along with the rehabilitation of 19 formerly dilapidated structures.
SolarWorks NJ working with RPM Development gained national attention with the Springfield Commons Project. This 80 kW solar energy system is the first and largest system in Newark, NJ. Springfield Commons is a 51 multi-unit affordable housing project.
Masapollo added" We are extremely proud to be associated with RPM Development. RPM has won many prestigious awards and is a leader in the affordable housing market.
SolarWorks NJ projects a completion date of the end of March for the Orange project. SWNJ also has several other large affordable housing projects scheduled for 2008.
SWNJ also has a residential division and has offices located in Marlton, Turnersville and Denville, NJ. It is the only Gloucester Township company to be ranked #1 by the prestigious Philadelphia 100 and the "NJ Top 25 and recognized by NJ Biz Magazine as a "Top Emerging Technical Company".
