SMA AMERICA HARNESSES STAR POWER IN LONG BEACH

U.S. Solar Inverter Authority Adds to Larry Hagman's Solar-Powered Estate, Holds iPhone Drawing at Solar Power Conference

GRASS VALLEY, Calif., Nov. 29, 2007—With over 12,500 in attendance, the 2007 Solar Power Conference in Long Beach, Calif. proved to be an enormous success for the solar industry. SMA America, Inc., the U.S. arm of global solar technology giant SMA Technologie AG, spent three days at Solar Power '07 generating a buzz of their own.

Larry Hagman, most recognizable as J.R. Ewing from the hit TV series "Dallas," stopped by SMA America's booth to show his softer, "greener" side. The television star plans to purchase six of SMA's Sunny Island 5048U battery-based inverters to ensure backup power for his 35kW photovoltaic system in the Ventura, Calif. hills.

SMA America wasn't the only attendee feeling lucky - the company made waves when they held a drawing for a free Apple iPhone. Winner Ivona Nikolova of Sun Light & Power in Berkeley, Calif., was happy to be chosen from 1,200 entries as a new owner of the fervently popular mobile phone.

"The Solar Power Conference will surely be remembered as the highlight of 2007," said Pierre-Pascal Urbon, president of SMA America, Inc. "In unveiling two exciting new products, SMA stood out as an industry leader and further elevated the excitement surrounding the conference and the bright future of solar power."
