KACO SOLAR USA talks about quality

KACO Solar inverters have the lowest failure rates in the industry. Learn more about why that is.

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — November 13, 2007— KACO failure rates are less than 1% because of their innovative climate chamber stress testing method. Each inverter shipped to the US is run for four hours under full load at 70˚C before being boxed and shipped to the storage facility in Northern California. This is another bolster to the many accomplishments of KACO Solar, Inc. and parent company KACO Geraetetechnik GmBH in Neckarsulm, Germany. The industry leading inverter stress tests will no doubt position KACO to provide the most fail proof product in the residential US market.

The KACO quality control procedure begins with freezing all assembled printed circuit boards below 0° C. Next, the boards are heated to over 80° C. The boards are then inspected during a process called in-circuit testing for any soldering imperfections the boards may have incurred during the wave soldering process. After the inverters are assembled with the printed circuit boards and other components, they are placed in a climate chamber. The inverters are frozen to below 0° C. After the freezing process the inverters are moved to another chamber that is heated to over 70° C. The inverters are run at full rated power for the final extreme stress test prior to shipping. KACO inverters worldwide have less than 1% failure rates in the field because of our extreme quality control measures. KACO tests EVERY INVERTER as described above, before they leave the factory.

KACO is serious about quality and they have proven this commitment by awarding Carlos Babij of SPG Solar a trip to see the KACO factory in Neckarsulm, Germany this December. "As an engineer this trip will no doubt be an opportunity for him to experience first hand a state of the art manufacturing facility in the booming German market" Said Director of Sales Vince Lucia.
