ONSET COMPUTER CORPORATION INTRODUCES LIGHT ON/OFF DATA LOGGER FOR ENERGY MANAGEMENT APPLICATIONS
Company expands family of simple, cost-effective light logging products with new HOBO® U9 Light On/Off Logger
BOURNE, MA, February 7, 2005 - Onset Computer Corporation, a leading supplier of battery-powered data loggers, today introduced the HOBO U9 Light On/Off Logger, a compact, direct-USB data logger for recording light usage.
Designed for energy service contractors, facility managers, and others who need to analyze light usage patterns in commercial and institutional buildings, the logger performs around-the-clock monitoring of light on/off status, and uses accompanying Windows-based software to convert the recorded data into time and date-stamped graphs. It can store up to 43,000 light on/off measurements. And, since it is battery-powered, the logger does not require hard wiring, and can easily be attached to most light fixtures.
"Good, reliable light usage data is critical in assessing energy-savings opportunities for facilities, whether it's an office park, school gymnasium, or retail store," said Joanna Phillips, product marketing manager for Onset. "The HOBO U9 Light On/Off Logger provides the simplest and most cost-effective light-logging solution available today, making it particularly well-suited for large-scale lighting studies where numerous rooms and spaces in a facility need to be monitored."
Powerful, intuitive software
To analyze and plot light usage data, Onset offers HOBOware' 2.0 for Windows, a highly intuitive graphing and analysis software package.
HOBOware provides a user-friendly graphical user interface, and makes it easy for users to determine the percentage of time lights were in use, peak hours of operation, and runtimes of each light. The software also offers a number of convenient features such as the ability to view multiple channels from a single logger on one graph, zoom tools for close-up viewing of data, and one-click conversion of data for easy upload into spreadsheets and other programs.
Fast data offload
The HOBO U9 Light On/Off Logger offloads data to a PC via a convenient direct-USB interface, which enables high-speed data offload (43,000 measurements in as little as 30 seconds).
Pricing and availability
The HOBO U9 Light On/Off Logger is available from Onset immediately for $60. Quantity discounts are available. HOBOware software, which is sold separately, is priced at $95.
