Winning in two categories, London based solar company took away awards for Best Exterior Product and Best Electrical and Lighting Product.

Beating over 100 of the industry's newest products, solarcentury's solar roof tile, C21, and solar lighting solution, streetsmartTM were recognised by some of the industry's most prestigious names as the most innovative and exciting to be launched this year.

Winning Best Exterior Product, C21 is the latest in roof integrated solar technology. The new roof tile, unlike other solar roofing products, has been developed specifically for the UK housing market. It's integrated design and aesthetic appeal means that for most developments it won't need planning permission.

Martyn Berry, new product development engineer at solarcentury explained, "When we designed C21 we wanted to provide house builders with a roof tile that was just as easy to install as conventional tiles and that was a functioning, attractive addition to the building, providing clean free electricity for the home."

solarcentury's second winner, the streetsmartTM lighting solution transforms a bus shelter into an independent power unit. streetsmartTM gives bus shelter manufacturers and Councils the ability to install illuminated shelters wherever they want without the associated costs and delays of traditional grid connection. Every aspect of the solution relies on the latest in modern innovation: the custom made solar module, the long life cyclic batteries, the custom designed low power controller, high efficiency LEDs and light diffusing membrane.
