1st Solar & Metal Roof System Approved FM 4478 - Standard for Roof-Mounted Rigid PV Module Systems

Centroplan's PV system became the first rigid PV module, securement, and metal roof system to receive FM Approvals Listing to their 4478 Standard. The PV system was tested and certified along with S-5!’s NEW PVKIT^® HUR, Butler's MR 24 standing seam roof and JA Solar's module.

PVKIT^® HUR is a new version of the PVKIT solar mounting attachment, designed to withstand extreme wind uplift forces such as hurricane forces. The length of the overhead grabs has increased to 6 inches, providing a larger contact area with the top of the PV module’s frame. This increases the grip on the module frame, preventing it from releasing as the module frame bows under extreme wind uplift force. A new contact surface design and angle increase the grip on the frame still further. Another feature is a baseplate to match the new 6-inch grab, resulting in greater clamping force across the entire grab length. This new baseplate incorporates a mechanism at the underside of the module frame to further prevent the frame from disengaging its mount under high uplift forces. It is the first metal roof PV mounting system certified to FM4478, FM Approvals toughest PV Standard.

The SFOne features an innovative Full-Wireless system and an Open Thread mesh network. Its TMS is built-in for total PV plant control and achieves the lowest latency communication in the market. Face-2-Face positioning helps wash vehicles cover twice the area as the vehicle passes, which proportionally reduces wash time hours per MW. The SFOne has a lower height structure, which helps reduce the visual impact of the plants.

HPS EnduraCoil is a high-performance cast resin transformer designed for many demanding and diverse applications while minimizing both installation and maintenance costs. Coils are formed with mineral-filled epoxy, reinforced with fiberglass and cast to provide complete void-free resin impregnation throughout the entire insulation system. HPS EnduraCoil complies with the new NRCan 2019 and DOE 2016 efficiency regulations and is approved by both UL and CSA standards. It is also seismic qualified per IBC 2012/ASCE 7-10/CBC 2013. Cast resin transformers are self-extinguishing in the unlikely event of fire, environmentally friendly and offer greater resistance to short circuits.
