Tell us about Rolls Battery

It starts with the exclusive manufacturer – Surrette Battery Company Ltd.  Established in 1935, Surrette Battery Company Ltd. is proud to be one of North America’s leading lead-acid battery producers and Canada’s only remaining independent battery manufacturer.  Located in Springhill, Nova Scotia, we produce a wide range of Rolls-branded premium deep cycle batteries for use in Renewable Energy, Marine, Motive Power and Railroad applications.  Rolls flooded and sealed AGM & GEL VRLA products are internationally recognized for their dependability, outstanding quality and industry-leading manufacturer warranties.

Your company will be exhibiting at Intersolar / EES, what is it that makes this an important event for your company?

Intersolar North America continues to us an opportunity to meet face-to-face with current and potential customers as well as industry professionals seeking information and technical support with our flooded and sealed product lines. As a returning exhibitor, we are often able to discuss and qualify new opportunities and vet leads to an experienced product distributor in their region.

What can a visitor to your booth expect to see this year?

Returning this year, we will be sharing our booth with representatives from one of the largest Rolls Battery distributors in the US. Teaming up with Stationary Power Systems offers attendees added assistance with system sizing and design, as well as pricing and availability for the full range of Rolls flooded, AGM & GEL battery lines and accessories.

Any new products you will be introducing?

We strive to offer added value for our customers, improving performance and broadening our product lines to meet their specific needs. We are currently working on a number of enhancements and model additions to our flooded line which will offer our customers even more options when choosing a flooded or sealed battery for their energy storage application. Visit the Rolls booth for more details!

When you get a chance to walk the exhibit hall floor yourself, what is it you will be most interested to see?

Walking the show is often as beneficial as meeting with attendees in our booth. Touring the exhibit hall provides an opportunity to learn more about the products and services offered by other manufacturers and service providers, current trends as well as a look at competitor's product lines. From a marketing perspective, touring the show often allows me to gauge what others are doing well to gain the interest of attendees.

Intersolar / EES has many educational sessions, is your company involved in any of them this year?

We will not be offering a session at Intersolar North America in 2018. However, we do schedule a number of certified technical training workshops and Q&A sessions at NABCEP and SEIA events throughout the year. In addition, we work with our distributors to offer battery training events for battery dealers and system installers.

When you book a booth for a trade show like this what are your expectations and what does your company hope to accomplish at the event?

Our participation in solar industry trade shows and events is driven by several factors. Brand awareness and availability to our customers is very important. We often learn about new sales opportunities at the show, discussing installations with current and potential customers. In many cases, dealers and installers are looking to discuss specific applications and are seeking our guidance on product selection and ongoing maintenance & technical support. Assisting in the success of their projects furthers the performance and reputation of our products in the industry.
