Solar Power International 2017 Q&A with SolarRoofHook

Your company will be exhibiting at SPI 2017, what is it that makes this an important event for your company?

As one of two major tradeshows, SPI is an important event for SolarRoofHook to meet with our customers to learn how we can continue to support their needs. It is the best chance to get our Sales team in front of Distributors and Installers, and products into the hands of customers. We make sure to focus on gaining feedback on how to improve mounting hardware for the solar industry.

What can a visitor to your booth expect to see this year?

We have found that once installers touch, handle, and feel our roof attachments, then they become believers. This year we will be demonstrating how our products work by attaching them to mock roofs. Installers will also be able to speak directly with our Sales team to learn more about new products. Our booth (#1414) will feature SolarRoofHook products on mock roofs for the most popular residential roof types in America, including Asphalt Shingle, Tile, Metal, and Stone Coated Steel roofs.

Any new products you will be introducing?

We are introducing a few new products this year. For Asphalt Shingle Roofs, we have a new Low Profile QuickBOLT that simplifies the installation process by removing the height adjustable nature of the original QuickBOLT.

We have a new hook for Stone Coated Steel Roofs, as we find more installers finding customer opportunities with this type of roof. Lastly, we are displaying our new line of non-penetrating mounting hardware for Metal roofs, called SolarGripz.

When you get a chance to walk the exhibit hall floor yourself, what is it you will be most interested to see?

We always look forward to seeing our partners in the industry, including our advertising and marketing vendors. We also make sure to keep an eye on the competition to understand gaps in the industry, so we can provide our customers with what they need for a profitable installation business.

Solar Power International has many educational sessions, is your company involved in any of them this year?

We will be presenting an educational poster at SPI’s Poster Reception entitled “The Evolution of Residential Roof Flashing”. Like many other aspects of the solar industry, technological advancements have spurred the creation of better, leak-proof flashing solutions to solve installers’ problems. This poster uses a time-line to illustrate the evolution of residential roof flashing, from traditional Aluminum Flashing to innovative Microflashing, and everything in between. Samantha Dalton, our Marketing Director, related the poster and will be at the Poster Reception to answer any questions.

When you book a booth for a tradeshow like this what are your expectations and what does your company hope to accomplish at the event?

Our goal is to continue working to make solar more affordable in this country, which we hope to do by lowering the cost of mounting hardware for installers. Even with the uncertainty surrounding the financial backing of some larger companies in the industry, we expect even more visitors to our booth this year as we enter a decade of supplying mounting hardware to the solar industry.  We offer stability to the industry and will show our customers why SolarRoofHook expects to be around for the long haul.
