Can you tell us about ReneSola and your company's history in energy efficient products?

ReneSola is one of the world’s largest and most reputable providers of sustainable energy solutions. Since 2008, we’ve earned a reputation for superior quality and production efficiency. The company has shipped millions of products to customers around the world, and has more than 40 office locations in 16 countries.

We have a deep heritage in the solar industry, both as technology provider and key partner in project development. Recently we’ve brought our expertise to the LED lighting sector. Through a strong portfolio of manufacturing and sales channels, ReneSola produces and supplies a wide range of LED products that meet ROI objectives for our distributors’ clients across a number of sectors.

Why did ReneSola decide to expand into the LED market?

ReneSola is continually introducing new product lines that provide additional value to our portfolio, and the LED market was a natural next step for our brand. In the U.S. especially, the demand for LEDs is growing at an incredible rate. In fact, according to a report from Research and Markets, the country’s market will reach as high as $5.2 billion in 2015.

What lessons have you learned from the solar business that will help you better succeed in the LED market?

We’ve built a stellar reputation in the solar business, earned by pairing high-quality products with excellent customer service. We also learned how to build strong relationships with distributors by working closely with their teams to help them better serve their own customers. We are fortunate to be able to leverage ReneSola’s strong brand name and track record of success in solar as we look to bolster our LED business.

What sets your company apart from other LED providers?

One of the biggest challenges for the LED market is the price point. We think it’s incredibly important to drive down costs so that everyone can have access to these energy-saving products. As such, our goal is to serve the needs of a variety of customers and can deliver affordable options—without sacrificing quality .

There aren't many new players in the LED lighting space that have the expansive sales and warehouse support that we do. With shipping facilities throughout the U.S., we offer expedient shipping, and with no additional freight cost. That’s huge for our distribution partners.

You mentioned ReneSola sells directly through distributors. How do you establish relationships with those customers?

ReneSola is a true partner to the distributor, and we are mutually committed to their success. We stress to our sales teams the importance of understanding each distributor’s goals and efforts in their regional markets and their unique needs, both in terms of products and logistics. We then go above and beyond by giving our distributors an extremely aggressive pricing structure. These unparalleled price points, paired with our products’ exceptional quality, allow distributors and contractors alike to achieve and maintain strong margins.

We also know it’s important to immerse ourselves in the issues impacting our customers. Recently, we joined the National Association of Electrical Distributors, which gives us a great deal of transparency into the challenges and opportunities facing distributors from coast to coast.

What are some of your most popular products?

ReneSola offers a robust portfolio of products, spanning indoor and outdoor applications. To date, some of our more popular products are our corn lights and our shoebox retrofit kits. Our corn lights are very aggressively priced, and very few competitors have these products in the variety that we do.

Who are your main end-users – residential, commercial, industrial, institutional etc. and why?

All of the above. It all comes back to our laser-focus on serving distributors. It doesn’t matter if you’re a mom-and-pop shop or a national conglomerate; our aggressive pricing works for everyone. This inclusive strategy helps our partners serve a wide variety of customers across the industrial, commercial and residential sectors.

What are ReneSola’s long-term goals?

Since launching our U.S. LED business in late 2014, we’ve quickly built a sales and logistics network across 25 states. We currently are in active discussions with a variety of new distribution partners and look forward to expanding our network substantially in the coming years. We’re excited about how much progress we’ve already made in 2015, and we look forward to closing the year on an even higher note.
