Intersolar South America: Record Numbers to Attend Sao Paulo Solar Energy Exhibition

Doors open again to the 4th Intersolar South America at Expocenter Norte Sao Paulo, August 18: 176 exhibitors from 12 countries will attend this years Intersolar South America – a year-on-year rise of 60%. The exhibition area has even doubled.

"100% increase in exhibition space. Thats an amazing result", happily summing up the international organizers of Intersolar South America, Florian Wessendorf, managing director of Solar Promotion International and Daniel Strowitzki, CEO at Freiburg Messe Marketing International. And Edgard Laureano da Cunha Junior, CEO from Aranda Eventos, and co-organizer adds: "This success is overwhelming. We can feel the trust in the Brazilian market from global investors and local providers."

The show offers a treasure trove of exhibitors from PV Cells and Modules Makers, Inverter Companies, Providers of Monitoring and Control Technology, PV Manufacturers, PV Components and Tracking Systems Suppliers, Providers of Mounting Systems, PV Applications Distributors, and Solar Thermal Technologies Suppliers, as well as Energy Storage Providers.

For Schletter, a leading provider of mounting systems, Brazil is a core future market in South America. The firm already has a well-known reference project in Brazil, a 4MW solar park south of Florianopolis, which is one of the biggest PV projects in the country. "Intersolar South America is the central meeting point for solar business on the continent. Its perfect for networking and doing business, and for staying up-to-date on the latest developments. The Brazilian market offers a promising future for solar technology," states Silke Kaufmann from Schletter.

Again in 2016, the Intersolar South America conference will be held in parallel on August 23 - 25, and with more sessions and workshops this year, delegate numbers are expected to exceed the 800 attendees of last year. The conference provides first-hand insights into anticipated future developments in the Brazilian solar market. As well as looking at the challenges of net metering, taxation, grid connection procedures, dissemination and funding offered by the national regulatory agency ANEEL, the conference will also examine the highly promising distributed solar PV segment. Another emerging area that will be highlighted is centralized generation, especially given the highly successful national PV electricity auctions conducted by the government over the past 3 years; one auction is scheduled for December 2016.

Special side events as the presentation of the Greenpeace report "The Energy [R]evolution and Alvorada" and an exclusive solar networking dinner complete the multifarious conference.

As in the past, there will also be special workshops for installation technicians, as e.g. "How to Install Solar Heating Systems on Existing Houses", for engineers, and with the global "Intersolar Study program" also for master engineering and economic students.

Renewables now offer a variety of new career opportunities. For the first time, the exhibition will include a jobs and careers forum, which will provide an informative setting for finding out more about training options and education.

Admission to the exhibition is free and the doors will be open from August 23-25, 2016, from 12 to 8 p.m. A pre-registration is required.
