UMA Solar Announces First and Only NSF-61 Plastic Polymer Solar Collectors

UMA Solar is proud to announce that Heliocol, MAXG and SunStar solar collectors are the only plastic polymer panels qualified for potable (drinking) water applications as per NSF-61.

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. (November 9, 2010) - UMA Solar is proud to announce that Heliocol, MAXG and SunStar solar collectors are the only plastic polymer panels qualified for potable (drinking) water applications as per NSF-61. Unlike NSF-50, that only meets swimming water health levels, NSF-61 goes further with higher health standards to qualify the materials for drinking water applications.

NSF, or the National Sanitation Foundation, is an independent, non-profit organization that certifies products and writing standards for food, water and consumer goods.

"The quality and safety of our products have always been a top priority at UMA Solar," said UMA Solar COO Remo Eyal. "This NSF-61 certification of our materials ensures that our panels won't cause harm to our users from chemicals leeching into their drinking, swimming pool or bathing water."

UMA Solar's patented Heliocol, MAXG and SunStar solar collectors are produced through unique, over-molding injection technology that results in seamless, integrally molded thermoplastic units made with the same material throughout. Unlike other plastic solar collectors, the UMA Solar collectors are created with materials certified to be safe and contaminate-free for use with potable water.
